This guide, aimed particularly at students of law and/or health policy evaluation and following the conventions of writing in the health and social sciences, describes the standard elements of a paper that reports the results of research to identify the key provisions of law on a particular issue, identifies patterns in the nature and distribution of laws, and defines important questions for evaluation research, legal analysis and policy development.
External Training Resources
These training modules are part of the Public Health Law Academy, supported by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Three modules introduce legal epidemiology and two facets of legal epidemiology practice: legal mapping (with a focus on policy surveillance) and research methods. Developed through a partnership between CDC, ChangeLab Solutions, and the Center for Public Health Law Research, these modules provide a brief overview of its offerings and links to resources for researchers, educators, students, and practitioners in health departments.
