About

Based at the Temple University Beasley School of Law since 2009, the Center for Public Health Law Research creates and advances research on the health effects of laws and policies

We believe that law is a powerful tool that can advance public health and well-being, but also recognize the historical and contemporary harms that law can have. By developing and promoting the measurement and evaluation of the law’s impact, we strive to support proactive and creative policies that advance public health and well-being for all.

Our work is funded by a wide array of funders including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Office of Veterans Affairs, the World Health Organization, Vital Strategies, the Society for Family Planning, and many others.
